Following the recent brouhaha in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), I am forced as a patriotic citizen who does not want the current government to fail because if it does it means we have wasted another four years of our development process to give a little layman advice to the party’s members and well wishers. The Republican Party was founded in 1854. This new party was anti-slavery and believed that the modernization of the United States depended on providing higher education to its citizens, improving the banking system, and expanding the railroad and industrial sectors of the country. They also had plans for building new cities while modernizing and enlarging existing cities.

As you can guess from most of my articles, I do not like what most people call “normality.” Sure, my thinking seems kind of skewed on some things, a little funny on certain things, and a little strange on others. But, indeed, I ask this question not in jest about America, but quite seriously. What is a better form of government than a social democracy or a government where the people vote? I wonder about that seriously, because what is going on now definitely does not seem to be working.

The death tax, or estate tax, depending on the emotions the speaker is trying to elicit, is a tax on the estates of deceased millionaires. The tax is a government stake in the money earned by the wealthy, and invites a great deal of controversy in its application. The tax was allowed to lapse for a year in 2010, and as incredibly rich people like George Steinbrenner die this year, saving them from hundreds of millions in possible government taxes, more debate has arisen about this tax.

Ben Jealous, President of the NAACP, declared at last week’s annual convention that the impetus for the Tea Party is hatred of nonwhite people and resentment of a black president. Of the rise of the movement, Jealous announced, “Here comes the genetic descendant of the White Citizens Council, burst from its coffin.”
