Canada is a parliamentary democracy that has existed for 143 years as a country founded in the name of peace, freedom, and equality. Over the years Canada has become a very centralized country politically speaking with a majority of Canadians having very lenient political beliefs and frankly, an apathetic attitude towards politics and politicians in general. However, it has been shown that Canadians are content with the system of beliefs that has been developed over time not wishing to see a movement towards the far left or to the far right. We like things in the middle…I’ll let that one go because it’s far too easy.

The new stars are the three independents, Rob Oakeshott, Tony Windsor and Bob Katter. In the recent elections for the Australian Parliament, the House of Representatives, the result was inconclusive with the current result being (they’re still counting) Labor getting 71 seats and the Liberal Coalition 72 seats with 4 independents, 1 Green MP and 2 seats still undecided.

I’ve been hearing a lot of talk lately about President Obama’s religion (if any). A recent poll discovered that a high and rising number of Americans believe Mr. Obama is a Muslim. This prompted a strong protest from a White House spokesperson, who claimed the president is “obviously a Christian,” based on the fact that he does things like meet regularly with spiritual advisors (things that a Muslim would also do, as would a Buddhist or a Hindu or a Navajo medicine man).

When a person gets a disease, or become sick, or suffers from panic, paranoia, depression, sadism, masochism, suicidal or destructive tendencies or thoughts, then the society, including doctors, relatives, and other surrounding people, try to help him/her with counseling, care, clothing, therapies, food, nutrients, medication and good words of encouragement with the implication of intrinsic goodness in the human nature. But when a person becomes (born?) a terrorist, then the secret agents, with participation or involvement of other people, start to destroy his/her health, well-being, personal relationships, home, employment, and other elements of the personal life. Why?

Democrats keep talking about not wanting to go back to what we had. What we had, until just months after Democrats took control of congress, was low unemployment, rapidly decreasing deficits, soaring per capita disposable income and soaring revenues to the government–everything that makes an economy a total success. All along, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, the two Democrat banking leaders, threw overwhelming support behind Fannie and Freddie’s disastrous purchase of, what eventually became $5 trillion dollars worth of destructive, sub-prime mortgages. We shouldn’t go back to the beginning of the Frank-Dodd disaster, they’re right. Then came Barack!! So what’s happened since Barack Obama was elected. Barney and Chris enacted new legislation, completely ignoring the hundreds of billions more Fannie and Freddie have cost taxpayers, giving government, especially Frank and Dodd huge new powers to pass on infinitely more damage than what they’ve already done.

All the while their country men, due to unscrupulous stock, mortgage, insurance and lending practices find themselves robbed of their life’s savings and out of work. As mid-term elections rapidly approach, the need to not listen to the middle is increasing. Right now in the United States, moderates from both major political parties feel squeezed out of the political process. The time has come for level-headed and centristic and moderate individuals to make ourselves known. Neither conservatives, nor liberals truly speak for us, the often silent, but powerful majority.

This article looks at some recently passed Federal laws to see if they are actually accomplishing the goals and objectives that they are supposed to accomplish. Unfortunately, it appears that just because Congress passes a law it does not mean that the problem is solved. In more case than not, the implementation of the law usually does not solve the issue or results in unintended consequences that result in additional problems beyond the original target of the law.
