In Denver, Colorado, several immigrant support groups are petitioning to have the law enforcement in their area ban the usage of system wide fingerprinting to specifically identify illegal aliens in custody. Currently in some areas, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) uses a program called Secure Communities to run fingerprints of any individual booked against FBI criminal history records. The prints are also ran against the Department of Homeland Security immigration records to determine if the person is in the country illegally or if they have prior arrest records.

Some schools included propagandistic letters from trade unions in notices sent to parents and guardians on Friday, informing them about the strike and leaving it up to them to decide if they want to send their children to school today.
