The Rights, Responsibilities, and Radiation of Liberty

Government cannot provide rights to the people; it can only protect their transcendent, natural rights by protecting their liberty. But today, there are more people who believe that liberty comes from government, or that rights come from government, than any other idea about government. You cannot value a liberty you do not understand. If you do not value it, you will not be willing to pay a price to preserve it, and you cannot preserve a liberty you do not understand.

Global Dislocation and False Hopes

The rush to globalization of the last two decades has given rise to financial instability and growing international disorder. A pullback is necessary, which can only be accomplished by returning power to established national governments and institutions.

Armageddon in the Making

History is said to repeat itself overtime, especially in the Indian subcontinent. Aside from the Middle East, which is the focal point of current race of major countries to grab dependable oil sources in the coming years, the Indian subcontinent is equally explosive in terms of potentially causing another world war if left unabated. India and Pakistan, formerly components of the original country of India, are currently engaged in an apparent arms race. Both countries are simply a stone’s throw away from each other, and both of them are trying to overtake one another in bolstering their armed forces year after year.

When Did America Become a Nation of Cowards?

“Americans are scared to death about the economy.” “Don’t let those Muslims build a Mosque at Ground Zero–too bad about the First Amendment.” American banks are terrified to lend money.

Government Takeover Just Doesn’t Work

I’m not advocating text/driving. It’s dangerous. Before it was against the law, people did it, they had accidents, and some people even died. I am, however, suggesting that there are better ways to attack such a problem than to make a law against it. And this new study proves I’m right. If even one more person died in a traffic fatality because of this law, it’s too many.

All the President’s Wars

A curious facet of Woodward’s book and Luxenberg’s review is the amazing similarity between Barack Obama’s attitude toward a future terrorist attack or attacks and that expressed by Newsweek editor and CNN commentator, Fareed Zakaria. In a 2007 Newsweek article, Zakaria proposed a policy of “resilience” in the event of terrorist nuclear attacks.

The Fresh Politics Reader: Making Current Events and Public Affairs Relevant to Young Americans (Practical Liberty)

Welcome to the 21st century. The information age. The time of miracles and wonder. Weren’t things supposed to be different? Our modern society is pitting the growing ambitions of the state against the personal interests of the individual. This is exactly the kind of crisis that spurred America’s Founders to action. It’s time that someone reminds young Americans that every generation needs to protect its hard-won personal liberties.
This book is a tool for seeing past the state politics o

The Little Book of Economics: How the Economy Works in the Real World (Little Books. Big Profits)

One positive side-effect of the recent financial market meltdown that toppled giant, century-old institutions and cost millions their jobs is that it created a strong desire among many Americans to better understand how the U.S. economy functions. In The Little Book of Economics, Greg, Ip, one of the country’s most recognized and respected economics journalists, walks readers through how the economy really works. Written for the inquisitive layman who doesn’t want to plow through aca
