A subtle but overt attack on the free enterprise system. Sometimes we are cognizant of the changes occurring around us, such as the president’s controversial health care bill which was extensively covered by the media. Just about every adult in this country has heard of it; they may not understand it, but they are aware of it. Most of the changes affecting us though are not visible to the naked eye, yet they can have as profound effect on us as “Obamacare.” Such is Attorney General Eric Holder’s full court press against the Bail Bond Industry representing a premeditated attempt to expand government and suppress the free enterprise system. Like my recent article explaining how new government rules inhibit health care providers from tending to the business of patient care, this legislation will undeniably affect all of us. Let me explain.

So far there’s not a whit of evidence that Mitt Romney’s “gaffes” in inadvertently referencing his personal wealth at campaign appearances and debates have cost him a single vote in the 2012 presidential election. We hear from mainstream pundits and wire service reporters- most of whom wouldn’t dream of voting for a conservative but are terrified that Romney will be the GOP nominee- how Romney’s horrifying Freudian slips are bound to alienate undecided voters, Reagan Democrats, and moderate Republicans.

We need another St. John’s Church meeting today calling a sleepy nation back to arms. No, not a call for guns and bullets, but one of words and philosophy. The Obama Administration has been taking apart our American liberties bit by bit. Each bit in and of itself is hardly noticed, but together are forging a chain of bondage so harassing that one day we will wake from our slumber unable to move for the America we knew is no more.

In 1976, Congress passed a bill that allowed the Internal Revenue Service to offer tax credits to people who invested in the rehabilitation of structures deemed “historic.” Since then, the Historic Tax Credit program has been instrumental in the preservation of 37,000 buildings, and private investment has topped $58 billion. It has prevented historic structures from falling into disrepair and helped rehabilitate some that had been neglected for years. Because the program has been so successful a new Senate bill seeks its expansion.
