It’s unfortunate that after serving my country for 24 faithful years and nearly half of them in foreign countries with and without my family, I’ve come to realize the pain my fellow Americans have had to endure living through the burden of healthcare here at home. I could not fathom the words after I retired how astronomical healthcare costs have gotten out of control especially long term care for families with elderly parents or relatives with no one to care for them. The lack of sensitivities by lawmakers and Executive process in this country has truly crippled the very people that have built the great nation and world to what it is today.

The other day, I was talking to a friend, and we were discussing the reality about how the shovel ready jobs which were promised by the Obama Administration “turned out to be, well, not so shovel ready after all,” as President Obama told a CNN reporter. It’s amazing to me how many people have such strong opinions on both sides of the fence when it comes to Mitt Romney, and his ability to faithfully lead our country. Regardless of your political affiliation, he is what we DO know for fact about the Republican hopeful.

It used to be that picking a vice presidential running mate was somewhat of an inconsequential undertaking as the president basically ran everything and the vice president collected dust somewhere in Washington, DC. This all changed when Franklin Roosevelt died unexpectedly in 1945 thereby thrusting Harry Truman into the Oval Office and placing the mantle of responsibility squarely on his shoulders, including our participation in the second world war.

With so little media time to cover the real truth, we are cut down to a select group of people who may or may not represent our best interests. It makes for an easy target for those who are masters at spinning and manipulating almost anything into their agenda and motives as they see fit.

There will be upcoming Supreme Court battles regarding the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. The ban on handguns in Washington, D.C., was thrown out and now other laws around the country are being changed or flat out thrown away. Even though the 2nd Amendment was put on the Bill of Rights right below the 1st Amendment some people still have a hard time seeing its relevancy.
